Provider Self-Audits

The next self-audit cycle will cover either calendar year 2019 or 2020 that is due no later than December 31, 2022.  The Department will not accept any self-audits for calendar year 2020 until after timely filing has passed in accordance with 7 AAC 160.115(b).

If your self-audit identifies an overpayment, please DO NOT submit AK-05’s (adjustment/voids form) to Conduent for processing.  Instead, please include a check for the amount of the overpayment made payable to the “State of Alaska”.  This should be submitted with your self-audit or no later than 60 days following submission.

The self-audits and overpayments are to be sent to:

DHSS/Medicaid Program Integrity
Attn: Provider Self-Audits
3601 C Street, Suite 902
Anchorage, AK 99503

If you need technical assistance, our website provides helpful tools or you can email QAPIProgramIntegrity@alaska.gov.

Effective June 7, 2018 the Department of Health and Social Services requires all Medicaid providers to conduct a self-audit once every two years, draft a report of the self-audit, sign and submit the self audit attestation form, and to repay all identified overpayments. See Alaska Statute 47.05.235 and Alaska Administrative Code 7 AAC 160.115.
