Born and raised in Alaska, Sarah spent most of her childhood in Skwentna, flourishing in the remote lifestyle.  She started her career with the State as a high school intern at the Department of Fish and Game.  This position carried into her college years.  By 1996 she was ready for new challenges with the Division of Public Assistance as an Eligibility Technician in the Coastal office located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Sarah’s first-hand experience working and living in remote Alaska provides her with a critical perspective on the challenges Alaskans face accessing health care services.  She has used this firsthand knowledge and experience in positions with the Division of Health Care Services in support of the Medicaid program.  Her positions have included work with the Finance and Recovery unit, and as the program manager for both the Breast and Cervical Cancer program and the Travel program.  Sarah is currently working in support of Alaska Natives as the Tribal Health Program Coordinator.
