WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. This public health program is designed to improve health outcomes and influence lifetime nutrition and health behaviors in targeted, at-risk populations. Nutrition education is the cornerstone of the WIC Program.

UPDATED:  Submit a Food For Approval

The Alaska WIC Program is preparing to implement eWIC. We will review all WIC eligible food products that are distributed in Alaska for addition to our eWIC Approved Foods List (also known as "APL").  We are now accepting submissions for new or changed food products. The current Allowed Foods booklet listed above will remain in effect until we transition to eWIC in 2019.

To submit a new food for review, please email the following REQUIRED information to  Incomplete submissions will not be processed.

- UPC / Barcode
- Brand Name
- Food/Product Name
- Package Size
- Image of product label including ingredient list and nutrition facts panel
*If images are unclear or unavailable, a complete list of ingredients is required.
