Alaskans Taking on Childhood Obesity (ATCO) Taskforce

About ATCO

ATCO is now the Alaska Alliance for Healthy Kids. The Alliance formed to expand the reach of an interagency taskforce of leaders in the health and education fields called Alaskans Taking on Childhood Obesity (ATCO). Since the members of ATCO understood that childhood obesity is caused by a complex array of factors and that the solution would require a comprehensive, coordinated, long-term approach, they recommended establishing an alliance to guide, coordinate and expand the reach of childhood obesity prevention efforts. The State of Alaska Obesity Prevention and Control Program assists the Alliance and the program staff provides the physical activity and nutrition expertise.
