Alaska’s State Planning Grant to Identify Options
for Expanding Coverage for Alaska's Uninsured
Employee Benefits Survey
The Alaska Employee Benefits Survey was conducted by the Research and Analysis Section of the Department of Labor & Workforce Development. This was a revision of a survey conducted in 2001 and collected information from employers about the frequency and provisions of benefits offered to employees.
The survey was stratified by firm size using four categories: very small (one to nine employees), small (ten to 49 employees), medium (50 to 99 employees), and large (100 and over). Results were weighted to represent the proportion of firms in each size class. Highlights of the survey results appear in the presentation “Alaska’s Uninsured” (July 2007).
