The Champions for Change!
Nominate an Alaska Native youth
Do you know an Alaska Native youth, ages 14-24, who is working to promote hope and make a positive impact in areas such as health and wellness, education, justice, cultural/language preservation, personal empowerment, leadership, or economic/community development? If so, the Champions for Change program of the Center for Native American Youth at the Aspen Institute wants to recognize and encourage such young people. Please feel free to pass this along to those you know.
The Center is inviting Native American youth to submit their stories of leadership and service for their communities and people. These stories will be shared on the CNAY website, networking opportunities will be offered, and five finalists will be offered an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. for a recognition ceremony and offered further networking and mentorship opportunities. Last year’s finalists—including Tessa Baldwin of Alaska—are listed HERE.
Additional information is available at the websites noted above. The Champions for Change application is available HERE.
The application deadline is January 31, 2013.
